I think of myself as semi-retired but still find that I work part time as I enjoy it. Being self employed I take off plenty of time to hunt and goof off at our "ranch" between Grass Valley and Downieville, My son is a general contractor and my daughter is an attorney. My wife has been fully retired for about 12 years and spend most of her time at the "ranch" gardening. I find it hard to believe that 50 years have past and I don't feel that old. Hope to see you all in October.

I'm retired after 40 years at Idaho State University, 30 of them as sports information director. The photo shows (if I downloaded it correctly, always iffy) my daughter, Rosa, and me at her high school graduation two years ago. She is a sophomore at the University of Montana. I hope to make it to the reunion but that may be its kiss of death. I planned on making #30 and ended up canceling because of the earthquake and then getting married. Pretty drastic way to avoid a reunion.

I know, I know "the schmuck left after our sophomore year."  True, but I thought that you would all like to know that I remained friends with Fr. John Kavanaugh, until I lost track of him about 5 years ago.  He presided over my kid's baptisms, my sister's funeral, my mother's funeral.  Otherwise I became a University teacher, then an IT manager.  All along I have been a Rugby Player (30 years) and a radical (from FSM then to Code Pink today).  Did you all know that Fr. Kavanaugh was a progressive? Saw him last with Rene at my mom's funeral.

I have been married to the same wonderful woman for 44 years.  We have 5 grandchildren.  I have been mostly retired for the last 12 years.  I was Director of Taxes for several publicly traded companies over the course of my career, the last being Varian Associates, in Palo Alto, CA.  We relocated to semi-rural Duvall, WA in 2001 to be near our grandchildren.  I am active in our local parish and Knights of Columbus.  See ya at  the reunion.  Go Padres!

When I left Serra I entered the seminary, St. Joseph's in Mt. View.  I don't know how or exactly why, but I stuck it out for 8 years and was ordained from St. Patrick's Seminary, Menlo Park in 1967.  I was the Asst. Pastor at Mt. Carmel, Redwood City for 2 years (baptized Joe DiBono's children while there) and then taught religion and Spanish at Serra HS for 3 years.  I left the priesthood in 1972 and a year later married this beautiful woman whom I met while stationed at Mt. Carmel; she was the sixth grade teacher, Sister Mary Claire.  We have been married for 36 years and have 4 children: a daughter 31, and 3 boys ages 29, 27 and 18. We also have a 1 yr. old granddaughter.  I've been in the real estate business in Walnut Creek for 34 years, mostly with Coldwell Banker.  I  just retired from general residential real estate and am working  exclusively in Rossmoor, a beautiful retirement community in Walnut Creek.  I feel unbelievably blessed in my life with a drop-dead gorgeous wife, 4 beautiful children, a granddaughter, and a great job.  Looking back, my only regret is that I never served my country in the military; I truly admire those of you who did.  I look forward to seeing all of you on the 17th; and I can't wait to see Joe Whipp pull out those crumbled yellow sheets and give the same speech he gave at our 10th reunion, and then again at the 20th, 30th and 40th.  Don't change a thing, Joe; it is perfect just the way it is. Thank you to the committee for organizing this great event.
