From Charlie: I was married for 51 years to that fabulous Mercy girl, JoEllen Jorgensen. JoEllen passed away in 2014 after a long illness. I remarried in 2015 to a longtime friend and former neighbor. Linda and I still live in Foster City in a wonderful home on the water. I have 3 sons and 8 grandkids (6 boys/2 girls) ranging in ages from 14 to 27. Linda has 2 children and 6 grandkids (3 boys/3 girls) so it is no wonder our lives are centered around family. We manage to find time for volunteer activities, and still love to travel. I retired in 2006 from GE after a long career in international trade. |

It was with mixed emotions that I accessed our class of 1959 Web Page. The positive being the brief biographies of my classmates and learning of their successes, their long lasting marriages and their joys of parenthood and grand parenthood. Conversely, it saddened me to learn of the passing of so many of my classmates. Their images are indelibly imprinted on my mind-forever youthful. Like most of you life has had its ups and downs but mostly way up. Career, family and children. Who would have thought. Having been retired for ten years I am still trying to perfect the imperfectable-golf with reading, fishing and extensive travel competing for my time. Looking forward to sharing an evening with everyone and reminiscing our youth.

I have been married for 50 years! same wonderful girl (Jeanette) that I met during my time at Serra. After some intense educational process's, I became involved in the semiconductor industry, spent 30 years with Olin Corp. & traveled the world in various Sr. Mgmt. positions. Joined BOC, traveled & spent most of 10 years in Asia. Joined Sumitomo Chem. & was President of a U.S. subsidiary (wafer fab), retired as it's C.E.O. in Nov. '08. Currently engaged with a solar start-up & will start international travel later this year; all told 8.5 million miles in-the-air. (maybe thats how I stayed married for 50 years?) My Serra High time / education was instrumental in my business achievments. We have 3 terrific grandsons all of whom live in Orange Co. I am an avid motor-sports enthusiast; raced for many years, ride a sports bike, & have just built another race car.

Thanks for the Reunion Letter, Don. I have only seen four classmates since 1959: Roger Beltrami, Pat Creehan, Jim Fregosi and Bill Yaley. Whew! We have been retired for almost 11 years, and love every minute of it. This April Ginny and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We have two daughters and a son. We love to travel and now have been on every continent except Antarctica. In the summer I am an avid road cyclist, and in the winter I swim. Hopefully, we will see everyone in Burlingame for the 50th reunion! Go, Padres!

Well, we all know the story. Mine's not not much different. After 43 years as the senior television producer at SJSU, I retired four years ago. But within a month (in academic-speak,) I flunked retirement. I'm still working in corporate television two or three days a week, and loving it. When we last met during our thirtieth reunion, I had just re-married. Beverly and I have been married twenty-three years already. I also claimed to have the youngest son in our group. James is now in his senior year at Hamilton College in New York, having spent his whole junior year in Madrid. He'll be 22 in November. My how time flies. We live in Mill Valley, and I spend a lot of time on my bicycle, reading, gardening, traveling and dealing with the ever-present need for home repairs. Shingling and roofing can be so much fun. So, I'm really looking forward to this event, rekindling old friendships, and determining how many of us still act like we're nineteen.

It can't possibly be 50 years, I am only 59 years old now.It will be nice to get a diploma since I'm the only guy that didn't get to go on stage back in '59. Wonder Why??????? Something between me and Father Keaveny! Linda and I are planning our 40th anniversary together{35married} May of 2010 going back to Hawaii where we lived for a few years. We have one very special, talented, beautiful daughter who is married for a year{24yrs old} working for American Cancer Society. I am still working, driving bus for Mendocino Transit in Ukiah, CA. I spent so much time wandering around having a good time that I forgot to plan on getting old and not working. So whenever I get old I will be in trouble I guess. Luckily got lots of time till that happens!! Can't wait to see all of you at the PARTY! God bless,David |
